HR Compass is a workforce development and HR support organization created to address two ongoing challenges in today’s labor market: small businesses operating without adequate HR infrastructure, and young and emerging workers entering the workforce without practical job readiness or exposure to workplace expectations.
The organization operates through two aligned programs - HR Compass and Real World Readiness - designed to strengthen employment outcomes from both sides of the workplace. HR Compass supports small businesses with compliant, people-centered HR systems that reduce risk, improve retention, and build organizational capacity. Real World Readiness prepares youth and emerging workers with real-world job skills, workplace expectations, and career navigation needed to succeed in modern workplaces.
Services are delivered through project-based support, group instruction, and ongoing advisory services, depending on client or partner needs.
HR Compass brings demonstrated experience supporting labor law awareness, employment practices, payroll administration, and benefits operations across multi-state environments, with familiarity spanning 32 U.S. states and cross-border workforce considerations, including Mexico. This experience informs practical, compliance-focused guidance aligned with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, while recognizing jurisdictional differences.
HR Compass serves small businesses, youth and emerging workers, and community partners seeking to improve workforce stability, retention, and long-term economic outcomes. Services may be funded directly by clients, through sponsorships, or via contracts and grants administered by schools, nonprofit organizations, workforce agencies, and public or quasi-public entities.
The organization is led by an experienced HR professional with workforce management experience supporting 50 to over 3,000 employees across nonprofit and for-profit sectors, including early childhood education (Head Start and Early Head Start), higher education, healthcare and senior services, agriculture, accounting, and hospitality. Leadership also includes formal legal training, with two degrees in Paralegal Studies (civil litigation and transactional law) and prior experience in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court, informing a strong emphasis on compliance, documentation, and risk prevention.
HR Compass operates using a prevention-focused, equity-centered approach that emphasizes access, compliance, and sustainability—supporting stronger workplaces, better-prepared workers, and healthier local economies.
